European Integration and South Eastern Europe
In the context of its “Task Force South East Europe” ZEI contributed between 2001 and 2004 to the development of appropriate teaching material for European Studies in South East Europe and at the establishment of the Bulgarian-Romanian Interuniversity Europe Center (BRIE) in Rousse (Bulgaria).
As part of this work, the publications of the ZEI Series “European Integration and South Eastern Europe” and the “HERTIE Lectures of BRIE”, which ZEI coordinated, received broad reputation across South East Europe.

SOE-Monitor
With the end of the Yugoslavian Wars ZEI actively supported the academic rehabilitation in the context of the EU Stability Pact for South East Europe. The “Task Force South East Europe” was established at ZEI between 2001 and 2004. Among its activities was the “SOE Monitor” aimed at making politics, academic, business and media better acquainted with the current development in the region. At the same time, the “SOE Monitor” informed about the activities of ZEI’s Task Force.
